A Washington, D.C. woman plead guilty to 2nd degree murder in the brutal stabbing death of bisexual patent lawyer David Messerschmitt.
Jamyra Gallmon, 21, (pictured above left) admitted to stabbing Messerschmitt 7 times during a botched robbery after she answered an online ad pretending to be a gay man looking for random sex.
Also in court Thursday was Gallmon’s roommate and lover Dominique Johnson, 19, who plead guilty to a lesser charge of conspiracy to commit robbery.
Prosecutors say Gallmon exchanged emails with Messerschmitt posing as a gay man. She even sent him a photo of a man’s upper torso.
The two agreed to meet in a hotel room for sex at the swanky Donovan Hotel in downtown D.C.
After leaving work on Feb. 9, Messerschmitt, who lived a secret down low lifestyle, texted his wife to let her know he would be an hour late.
Prosecutors say Johnson waited outside the hotel while Gallmon entered the hotel wearing a hoodie to disguise her identity.
Once inside Messerschmitt’s room, Gallmon attacked the lawyer, stabbing him in the chest, abdomen, groin and heart.
Defensive wounds on Messerschmitt’s hands suggest he fought for his life.
Gallmon bound Messerschmitt’s fingers with rainbow colored zip ties and stole $40 from his wallet.
After the murder, Gallmon met up with Johnson outside the hotel. The couple used Messerschmitt’s Metro SmartTrip card to catch the District bus home.
In exchange for their guilty pleas, prosecutor’s agreed not to add any additional charges.
Under the terms of her deal, Gallmon faces 18 to 25 years in prison instead of the 40 year sentence she would have received.
Johnson, who is attending college, faces up to 5 years in prison when she is sentenced. Until then she is free on bond.
