Female impersonator Bruce Jenner made a surprise guest appearance at a New York Gay pride event over the weekend.
The 65-year-old former Olympian appeared at a rooftop event at the Dream Downtown Hotel in Chelsea, NY on Sunday.
The crowd erupted as Jenner strode in unannounced. He was dressed in a long white frock, a lacefront wig and heavy makeup.
Jenner, who calls himself Caitlyn, seemed to bask in all the attention. Some people in the crowd screamed, “We love you, Caitlyn!”
Many of the attendees uploaded cell phone photos and videos of Jenner to social media.
Jenner was accompanied by a phalanx of security guards and E! Network producers with cameras.
Yahoo TV explains that Jenner was with a “group of girlfriends” who came out to support drag queen Candis Cayne.
Cayne dedicated the song “I Am a Woman” to Jenner, who is no woman. If Jenner is a woman, I don’t of any lesbian who would have him.
E! is filming the NY Gay Pride event for Jenner’s 8-episode reality TV series, I Am Cait.
A few people in the crowd noted that Jenner looked uncomfortable, like a fish out of water. His body language was closed even though party goers gave him a lot of room. It’s not like people were rushing up to greet him. They stood at a distance and stared.
Jenner looked nothing like the underwear-clad sex kitten on the heavily Photoshopped cover of Vanity Fair magazine.
At least he’s a sex kitten in his own mind.
I Am Cait premieres on E! on July 26.
