Presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson is no President Obama. The laid back retired brain surgeon is no fan of Obama’s LGBT policies or his efforts to make it easier for men to enter women’s public spaces. Especially if that man is wearing a dress.
“It is not fair for them to make everybody else uncomfortable,” Carson said in an interview with Fusion TV’s Jorge Ramos Thursday. “It’s one of the things that I don’t particularly like about the movement.”
Carson suggested that trans people use public restrooms designated for them. “How about we have a transgender bathroom?” he told Ramos.
While Carson’s comments may not be popular with the lefties and LGBT supporters, his views resonate with the majority of Houston residents who voted this week to repeal an ordinance that would have allowed cross dressing men to enter women’s restrooms, showers, and changing rooms.
“I think everybody has equal rights,” Carson said, “but I’m not sure that anybody should have extra rights — extra rights when it comes to redefining everything for everybody else.”
Carson has a slight lead over Republican frontrunner Donald Trump in some left-leaning polls.
