Female impersonator Bruce "Caitlyn" Jenner was confronted by a group of angry protestors outside a hotel in Chicago on Thursday. Jenner, 66, was invited to be a keynote speaker at a fundraiser for the Chicago House, a non-profit organization that provides housing for "marginalized" gays, transvestites, and transsexuals.
But not all trans people were happy to see Jenner. A small crowd of vocal protesters confronted Jenner outside the Hilton hotel. One trans person told Jenner he was "an insult" to all transgenders. Another shouted through a bullhorn, "You don't represent us!"
The protestors, who were black, accused Jenner of being a rich, white privileged cross-dresser masquerading as transgender.
Jenner paused to exchange tense words with a female impersonator before departing with his large entourage.
The protest was organized by a Facebook user under the event hashtag "#IAintCait: Protest Caitlyn Jenner's "Miss Representation" Luncheon!"
One user, Aidan Le Strange Starr, wrote: "If you are in Chicago this Thursday I urge you to spend even a few moments letting Chicago House know that Caitlyn Jenner does NOT represent trans/GNC folks!" Starr used the hashtag #?IAintCait.
Trans protestors plan to confront Jenner at every stop on his speaking tour.
