Rap mogul Li’l Wayne‘s Miami Beach mansion was back in the news after officers raided the waterfront mansion and seized his personal property on Tuesday.
A Miami-Dade judge ordered sheriff’s deputies to raid Wayne’s mansion and seize property to settle a $2 million debt.
Wayne owes $2 million in late fees and legal fees to Signature Group, a company that leased a Gulfstream jet to Wayne for $55,000 a month.
The company sued Wayne for millions in unpaid lease fees.
But Wayne’s bodyguards refused to let the officers in when they arrived. So police were authorized to break the doors down.
Deputies seized expensive artwork and Wayne’s platinum and gold plaques, which will likely be auctioned off to satisfy the $2 million debt.
Wayne listed the ultra modern mansion for $18 million back in May. The house has been the scene of numerous headline grabbing events, including a hoax 911 call about a mass murder inside the home.
Wayne purchased the property for $11.6 million in 2006.
