Reality TV stars Angela Simmons and Romeo Miller recently sat down with Hot 97’s Nessa for an in-depth chat about their brand new reality show, Growing Up Hip Hop.
Romeo has a story to tell: his mom, Sonya Miller, recently slapped her son with a lawsuit, claiming his father, rap mogul Master P, used him to hide assets from her in their bitter divorce.
Angela, on the other hand, is proud to be one of the few unsullied virgins in the entertainment industry. The privileged daughter of iconic rap legend Rev. Run Simmons, Angela prefers to spread positive energy in a negative world.
“People do feel that everything is given to myself,” Simmons said. “Yes, I have this wonderful family background. I come from this awesome family name. But it does not get me through life.”
The kids spoke about their separate career paths as they are both working on big projects in the future. Simmons, accomplished entrepreneur, is busy with her fashion designing and philanthropy work. While Romeo, an accomplished rapper and actor, has an album and a couple movies on the way. He’s also dabbling in fashion design with a brand new clothing line called Rome Everything.
As for Romeo’s divorce, he spoke about his experience as a high profile public figure whose life is an open book.
“I just want to let kids know,” he said. “You’re not alone. You never know what the person next to you is going through so always be kind.”
Growing Up Hip Hop premieres January 7 on WE TV.
