Move over Apollo Nida: there’s a new reality TV inmate on the cell block.
Love & Hip Hop: New York star Mendecees Harris was sentenced to 8 years in prison on drug trafficking charges today.
The prosecutor reportedly cut Harris a break in April after he entered into a complex plea agreement that called for him to cooperate with the feds’ investigation into a drug trafficking ring in the New York area.
Harris was freed on $600,000 bond last spring. He reportedly paid $103,000 in restitution to the federal government.
Harris and his reality TV co-star wife Yandy Smith have 2 young children together. He also has a son from a previous relationship.
The couple tied the knot over the Memorial Day weekend in a ceremony that was televised by VH1.
