A Florida teenager is charged with impersonating a doctor and running a medical clinic without a license.
Malachi Love-Robinson, 18, was arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license after he performed a physical exam on an undercover agent.
Love-Robinson operated the New Birth New Life Holistic Medical Center & Urgent Care on N. Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The website for the bogus medical center listed Love-Robinson as its president and CEO.
The website offered holistic and alternative methods to traditional medicine, including air, water, heat, earth, light, phototherapy and food therapies.
“He has his website and other websites he’s put together saying he’s a doctor, but he doesn’t have a license with the Department of Health,” health department spokesman Brad Dalton told the NY Daily News.
Love-Robinson employed a small staff and appeared to earn a modest income from his medical practice.
Love-Robinson also posed as a doctor on his Facebook and Twitter pages. His age was listed as 25 in his bio.
Health officials began investigating Love-Robinson in October. The investigation ended with his arrest on Tuesday after a Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force agent posed as a patient seeking a physical exam.
It isn’t known how long Love-Robinson worked out of his West Palm Beach clinic.
The case demonstrates how easily an enterprising con artist can impersonate a doctor without a medical license.
