I am saying that I started with the activist groups and doing things throughout my community when Trayvon passed but however I am an African American women born and raised in the heart of Georgia so I HAVE DEALT WITH AND SEEN FIRSTHAND the injustices…..I have seen many young black man to include my only brother, fall victim to this jaded judicial system. My brother served 10 years in the chain gang for a crime he did not commit. I have been called a n@gger right to my face so please don’t try me as if I don’t know or have not be affected with what’s going on. I was also raised in a city with a very high murder rate and gangs. Beyoncé ain’t about that life. She has never felt the real struggle…..the struggle of losing both parents, a child, and my only brother being sent away for 10 long years…..so I joined the military and have been serving for almost 17 years. I know the sacrifices….I have been deployed numerous times. I know first had how nasty this thing can become. So once again excuse me if I am not on the Beyoncé bandwagon but guess what I AM ON THE BAND WAGON FOR JUSTICE FOR OUR PEOPLE. I am also extremely VOCAL about it. I did not write it on a wall, I did not climb up on a police car. I opened my eyes and then opened my mouth. I’m just waiting for her to follow suite. This is the issue…..we need more strong leaders in our communities….we are honestly like drones, worker bees, followers…..easily led and it’s sad. It is like the story of the Pied Piper. That is how I compare black people to following Beyoncé. They are completely blinded and will fight tooth and nail with anyone who has a difference of opinion.
