Beyonce dropped a video teaser today, fueling rumors that she and husband Jay Z are divorcing.
The couple has not been seen together in public in weeks. And Beyonce was not seated next to Jay Z at Kobe Bryant‘s farewell NBA game last week.
Her rabid fans were puzzled when the single mother dropped a video teaser promoting an HBO event entitled “Lemonade”, set to air on April 23.
In the video teaser, the mother-of-one wears blonde cornrows and a faux fur coat. Her head rises slowly and the scene fades to black. She appears to be a depressed, heartbroken woman who is painfully aware that her marriage is over.
“What am I gonna do?” the singer whispers mournfully in a voiceover.

I don’t think it’s so much as the generation accepting anything. to be fair, in addition to that we also had the snap movement, crunk, and dirty south rap which wasn’t always the most prolific as far as lyrical content go. also, there are artists today that have good content: Bruno Mars, Adele, Jhene Aiko (although her music is a bit depressing to me always talking about drugs lol), Miguel, the Weeknd, Tiller, and Drake I think is probably the biggest star of the moment imho. And hey Rihanna is pretty high up there. Bey is simply queen due to exposure and saturation of the market. Most of these other artists go away for some time when they’re on break. Even during Beys breaks she is consistently releasing music/videos so that her projects overlap and this gives the illusion of success even though her singles don’t necessarily chart high anymore. Of her counterparts from the 90s-2Ks era that have been able to maintain some semblance of success (i.e. their records still go to #1 – Usher for instance released that stripper song & though it wasn’t on an album or whatever it charted #1 on the r&b Billboard list), they release an album and tend to take a couple years off where they are virtually unseen and they may dabble in music but usually it’s purposely lowkey to give folks a break. Justin Timberlakes albums always chart super high and largely successful, but even during that momentum he doesn’t release anything new or put out a new film. He works quietly on projects and the only people who are aware of it are his hardcore fans that follow him. Bey does EVERYthing big.
