A female security guard was arrested after she threw a cross-dressing man out of a women’s restroom in a D.C. grocery store.
Ebony Belcher, pictured above, says he was shoved by the unidentified guard after he entered a women’s restroom inside Giant grocery in northeast Washington D.C.
Belcher, 32, says he and a friend went to Giant to pick up money at Western Union. He said he asked a female staffer for directions to the women’s restroom, and passed the security guard on the way in.
“She opened the door and came in and started calling me derogatory names,” Belcher told NBC Washington.
Belcher claims the officer put her hand on his shoulder and arm and pushed him out of the store.
Belcher said the guard told him, “You guys cannot keep coming in here and using our women’s restroom. They did not pass the law yet.”
The transvestite, who says he suffers from Parkinson’s disease, stated he almost fell when the guard “pushed” him out of the restroom.
Belcher called police who arrested the officer.
Giant released a statement to the news media, saying:
“As this matter involves a third party that provides security services for Giant and there’s an ongoing criminal investigation, all inquiries related to the incident at the H Street Giant should be directed to the local police for a comment at this time.”
