This is a sad day for Chicago Bulls fans. The Chicago Tribune reports Derrick Rose was traded to the NY Knicks in a deal involving six players.
Rose will join Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony who turned down millions of dollars to stay with the Knicks in hopes of winning a championship.
The Knicks will look to sign free agents Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, or Dwight Howard to complete their Big 3 to challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA title next season.
Sports Quotient — “The Bulls are sending Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday, and a 2017 second-round pick in exchange for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant, and Jose Calderon.
Rose, 27, averaged 16.4 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game last season. The former MVP has battled injury after injury, but he played in 66 games last season (60+ games for the first time since the 2010-11 season). It remains to be seen if D-Rose can return to his old form, but a new start in the Big Apple could be exactly what he needs.
