Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and head coach Steve Kerr were each assessed $25,000 fines for their actions during and after game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers routed the hapless Warriors 115-101 at home to force a deciding game 7 in Oakland on Sunday.
After fouling out in the 4th quarter, Curry was ejected from the game for throwing his mouthguard at the son of Cavaliers minority owner Nate Forbes.
The mouthguard hit young Forbes in the face but he wasn’t injured. Curry quickly apologized before being escorted from the court by arena security.
Kerr was hit with a fine for criticizing game 6 officials for not pampering the two-time NBA MVP.
The league is still weighing whether to suspend Curry for game 7. That decision is expected today or tomorrow.
