Social media users threw their support behind President Obama’s daughter Malia Obama after her latest scandal.
The 18-year-old was caught on video smoking what appeared to be a marijuana joint at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, Il. which was held on Aug. 3-6.
On Wednesday, gossip blog Radaronline.com posted a video of Malia smoking a suspicious cigarette.
As other blogs picked up the story, social media users rushed to defend the troubled teen.
“Try to find a picture of me at Malia Obama’s age NOT high,” wrote Twitter user Zach Braff (@zachbraff).
Another Twitter user (@PamelaIzyanHay) wrote, “parents getting mad that Malia Obama smokes weed because she ‘should be a role model’ have no idea what their children are secretly doing.”.
And another user, @debthelitigator, tweeted: “Only lesson to be learnt in this #Malia #Obama debacle is: Be careful who you consider a friend. Too many snakes masquerading as humans”.
So far the White House has not issued a statement on what, if any, disciplinary action will be taken toward the teenager who is set to attend Harvard University next year… if she can stay out of trouble until then.
