NJ transit train crash

A NJ transit train jumped the track and crashed into the Hoboken Terminal, leaving over 100 commuters injured, many critically, on Thursday.

1 man is reported dead in the crash, according to the NY Daily News.

The cause of the crash is unknown, NJ Transit director of media relations Jennifer Nelson said.

Shaken commuters took to Twitter.com to post photos of the crash.

“My train just ran full force into Hoboken Station,” Twitter user @jaydanahy wrote.

“You could see the whole ceiling, it looks like it took the whole support beams down, the ceiling was coming down around it,” Alyson Hudson told the Daily News.

The station was shut down and NJ transit service suspended in the wake of the crash.
