In tonight’s Empire season 3 opener, viewers will see which one was pushed off the balcony — or if neither one took the plunge.
FOX Network is reportedly worried about the lack of buzz surrounding tonight’s season 3 premiere.
Normally, Black Twitter would be tweeting about the show the way they did during seasons 1 and 2. But the show has fallen off dramatically since last year.
Most viewers tuned out during the 2nd half of season after the show jumped the shark.
Particularly amusing was Jussie Smollet‘s character, Jamal Lyon, recovering from a usually deadly abdominal gunshot wound literally overnight.
This and other miscues — not to mention the show’s annoying Gay Agenda — has driven away the series’ core 18-49 year old viewers.
Empire‘s finale ratings was down double digits from the same timeframe in 2015. The soap opera’s season 2 finale saw a whopping 42% decline in viewership.
Music director Timbaland was canned after multiple complaints from younger viewers about the musical selections.
If you do end up watching season 3 of Empire, expect to see cameos by pop singer Mariah Carey, actor Taye Diggs, and rappers French Montana and Birdman.
