A petty drug dealer has been arrested in the shooting death of 19-year-old Mariah Wilson of Louisville, KY.
Police arrested Anthony Ray Harris, 23, of Louisville, and charged him with Wilson’s murder.
Louisville officers responded to a call of shots fired at the Liberty Green apartments in the 3000 block of South Clay Street just before 6 p.m. Monday.
They found Wilson’s body in a parking lot outside the apartments. She died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Harris was arrested around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
A police report obtained by WLKY News said Wilson was shot in the head as she ran from Harris’ apartment on Monday evening.
The report said Wilson and Harris argued after a drug deal went wrong inside his apartment.
Police said Harris admitted to shooting Wilson in the head.
Witnesses told police they saw up to 4 people running from the scene after shots rang out.
A friend told investigators Wilson feared for her life recently.
Police said Wilson received threatening text messages on her cell phone.
Harris is due in court Friday.
Wilson’s death was Louisville’s 82nd homicide of 2016.
