According to Boxofficemojo.com, ‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’ grossed a weekend total of $27.6 million at 2,260 theaters.
‘Jack Reacher’ grossed $23 million at 3,780 theaters.
‘Madea Halloween’ was expected to take the #2 spot after ‘Jack Reacher’ took the early lead on Friday.
Nate Parker‘s slavery film Birth of a Nation landed at the #15 slot with a weekend gross of $925,000, for a total of $14,190,181 in ticket sales after 3 weeks in theaters.
