Susan Olsen, the youngest star of ’70s TV sitcom The Brady Bunch, was fired from a radio gig for using a gay slur toward a guest.
Olsen, who co-hosts a Los Angeles-based radio show, upset one of her guests, openly gay actor Leon Acord-Whiting, by supporting President-elect Donald Trump on her “Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics” radio program.
Acord-Whiting, who is still apparently upset over Hillary Clinton losing the election, objected to Olsen’s support of Trump.
After the show he took to Facebook and demanded Olsen’s termination, saying he would never appear on the show again until Olsen was gone.
Showing zero tolerance for anyone whose opinions differ from his, he wrote: “It is wildly irresponsible for LA Talk Radio to allow a Trump fanatic to co-host one of their programs, where she can spew her idiotic lies unchecked. (Being a liberal and a patriot are mutually exclusive? Hillary is causing the protests & hate crimes? The Koran is a political tract?”.
He went on to accuse Olsen of spreading “outrageous misinformation” on her radio show.
The next day, Acord-Whiting posted a screenshot of a private message allegedly sent by Olsen via Facebook’s direct messaging service.
The message read:
“Hey there little pussy, let me get my big boy pants on and Reallly take you on!!! What a snake in the grass you are you lying piece of sh*t too cowardly to confront me in real life so you do it on Facebook. You are the biggest fa**ot a** in the world the biggest pussy! My Dick is bigger than yours Which ain’t sayin much! What a true piece of sh*t you are! Lying fa**ot! I hope you meet your karma SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY.”
On Friday, December 9, LA Talk Radio announced it had fired Olsen from the “Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics” show.
In its press release the station mentioned its “close and collaborative relationship with the LGBT community” and how LA Talk Radio hosts will only share “hopeful and positive messages of togetherness and tolerance” towards the LGBT community going forward.
The statement concluded: “We will not tolerate hateful speech by anyone associated with our radio station and have severed our ties with a host that veered off the direction in which we are going.”.
