Actor Alan Thicke, father of R&B singer Robin Thicke, passed away Tuesday at the age of 69. Thicke, who played Dr. Jason Seaver, the father on the 1980s TV sitcom Growing Pains, reportedly suffered a heart attack.
Thicke was reportedly playing with his 19-year-old son Carter when he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a Burbank, California hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Actor Bob Saget, who also played a TV dad on the 1980s sitcom Full House, was among the celebrities paying tribute to Thicke on social media.
“So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke. Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
