Weirdo actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested and charged with misdeanor assault and harassment of a Nazi sympathizer at an anti-Trump art installation in New York early Thursday.
LaBeouf’s arrest sparked protests on social media and inspired the #FreeShia hashtag on Twitter.com.
After Donald Trump won the election, LaBeouf, 30, expressed his outrage by live-streaming an anti-Trump art installation which is basically a blank wall with the words “He Will Not Divide Us” painted on it.
On Wednesday night, LaBeouf got into an argument with a Nazi sympathizer at the art installation. The argument escalated when he yanked off the man’s scarf, scratching the man’s face in the process.
According to the NY Times, LaBeouf was issued a desk appearance ticket and ordered to return to court on April 4. He was not jailed thanks to his star status.
