Former senator Hillary Clinton isn’t ready to retire just yet. According to reports, Clinton is set to run for mayor of New York.
Clinton, 70, is reportedly being pressured by her advisors to challenge Democratic incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio served as Clinton’s Senate campaign manager in 2000. But their friendship has cooled in recent years.
AOL.com notes that it took several months for de Blasio to endorse Clinton for president in 2016.
Clinton, who lost by a landslide to Donald Trump, is encouraged that she won NY by 79% of the votes in the 2016 presidential election.
A mayoral race between Clinton and de Blasio would be very interesting. He was once a Clinton insider, and he knows where Clinton’s skeletons are hidden in her closet.
De Blasio is in the final year of his first four-year term as mayor. The mayoral election is being held this year in New York.
