Kathy Griffin

CNN host and part-time comedienne Kathy Griffin apologized for holding up a mask of President Trump dripping with blood during a photo shoot.

The 56-year-old admitted Tuesday that she screwed up when she held up the bloodied mask during a shoot with controversial photographer Tyler Shields.

In a video tweet on Tuesday, a somewhat remorseful Griffin admitted the image was “too disturbing” and “it wasn’t funny.”

“I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong,” she said, hoping to stem the vicious backlash on social media.

Enraged Twitter users compared Griffin’s action to ISIS terrorists beheading kidnapped Americans during a terror spree in Syria.

The troubled comedienne said, “I understand how it offends people. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career.”

The fallout was swift: a manager for the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas confirmed Griffin had been canceled and the comedienne would never perform there again.

And Griffin’s New Year’s Eve co-host and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper called her behavior “disgusting” and “completely inappropriate.”

A Redditor unearthed an undated photo of Griffin, 2nd from right, posing with her friend Trump during happier times on a golf course.
