Rocky Johnson was a well-known professional wrestler. The Rock’s mother, Ata Johnson is a non-blood relative of the Anoa’i wrestling family, and his grandmother, Lia Malvia, was one of wrestling’s few female promoters.
The Rock attended high school in Hawaii where he lettered in football, track & field and wrestling. Thanks to his matinee idol looks, he transitioned easily to acting and starring in action thrillers on the big screen.
Unfortunately, The Rock’s latest film ‘Baywatch’ bombed at the box office. Critics called the movie “dumb”, “vulgar”, “boring” and “sexist”.
