LGBT advocates are crying foul after Hollywood rejected a TV spinoff of Golden Girls pitched by two of the original Golden Girls script writers. The new TV sitcom is dubbed the “the Gay Men’s Golden Girls”.
Instead of four golden girls aging in place together while exchanging sassy witticisms, ‘Silver Foxes’ features four aging older gay men, including Star Trek actor George Takei, pictured above, a black actor, and the two aforementioned script writers.
But so far, Hollywood has given the cold shoulder to the actor pitching the script to networks.
“Unfortunately, we cannot get one network executive to read it,” creator/writer Stan Zimmerman told Fox News Entertainment. “Or even a producer to pass it to [the networks]. We have found Ageism and homophobia alive and well in Hollywood.”
“The general public is bored to tears with gay, lesbian and transgender characters,” writes LifeSite News. “Maybe society has reached “peak gayness,” and the smart money people in Hollywood know it.”
