Bill Cosby is nearly destitute after spending millions of dollars to defend himself against lawsuits filed by women who claim he drugged and sexually assaulted them decades ago.
Cosby, 80, and his wife, Camille, owe the state of California $1.8 million for unpaid taxes in 2015. These taxes have a way of spiraling out of control when the state revenue service piles on fines and late fees.
According to TheBlast.com, the state filed a lien against the Cosbys, one day after his lead attorney requested to be removed from his case — probably because there is no more money left to pay him.
via The Blast — It’s possible Cosby’s money managers forgot to pay the bill, but as of this posting the lien is still outstanding.
Cosby’s wallet has taken a hit since the sexual allegations surfaced, including losing a comedy special on Netflix, a sitcom deal on NBC, and the temporary halt of “Cosby Show” re-runs.
