Now Martin wants the FBI to take over the investigation after a series of missteps by the Rosemont police in the case that has made worldwide news.

“I’m not a professional, but the FBI, from what I heard, they are professionals,” Martin said. “I’m just looking for help — that’s all I’ve been asking for since day one.”

Martin joined 100 people at a memorial for Jenkins in Douglas Park on Saturday — six days after Jenkins’ body was found.

Online videos show the crowd releasing white and purple balloons into the air.

Afterwards the group marched arm-in-arm to the FBI’s Chicago field office on the Near West Side.

“We’re here at the FBI building asking for a second look,” said activist Mark Carter, who threatened to protest outside the hotel for 30 days if his demands are not met.

“If we can’t get the answers that we want, then we must cause Rosemont an economic hardship,” he said, according to WGN-TV.

Carter and Martin demanded release of the “full” version of surveillance footage.

He said he wants the FBI to take “a second look” to make sure the videos weren’t altered.
