An explosive allegation from Tyrese Gibson‘s ex-girlfriend claims the “Chocolate Ty” singer whipped their daughter while the child begged for mercy.
Court documents obtained by The Blast alleges Tyrese pinned his daughter, Shayla, to the floor and beat her so hard she had difficulty sitting.
Now his ex-wife has received a restraining order seeking protection.
In documents obtained by The Blast, Norma Gibson claims Tyrese savagely beat their 10-year-old daughter on August 19, while the girl was staying with the actor.
He allegedly “went into a rage, pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.”
Norma states Tyrese, 38, accused his daughter of “stealing her own piggy bank money that she received for her birthday.”
Norma claims the child was beaten again several times after she “begged for mercy,” and screamed, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please stop! You’re hurting me!”
She says their daughter later told her, “mum, dad beat me so hard that it hurts when I sit down.”
Norma states that after she learned of the abusive incident, she sent Tyrese a message saying, “if it were up to me I’d have his fingers cut off for physically assaulting” the girl.
Norma also said she fears that Tyrese, who studies Islam, will move with their daughter to Dubai, where he frequently visits, which would prevent her from bringing their “daughter home from a Muslim country.”
She claims he has significant influence and power with the royals in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
Tyrese responded to the allegations in a lengthy statement on Instagram.com, accusing his ex of being vengeful because he remarried.
He writes, “Norma… I’m sorry I got re-married, I’m sorry we didn’t work out I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find another man since we separated.”
