Tamar Braxton has filed for divorce from her long-suffering husband Vincent Herbert. The 40-year-old mother-of-one filed documents in Los Angeles County on Tuesday, according to WENN.com.
The filing brings to an end the couple’s storybook nine-year marriage. The news comes less than a year after rumors swirled that Tamar was seeing an Atlanta businessman behind Vince’s back.
Later that year, they were reportedly involved in a domestic dispute at a hotel in Atlanta. Police were called after Vincent allegedly bit his wife’s hand during an argument.
Reports were that a divorce was imminent, but Tamar told reporters that the couple was doing “just fine.”
The couple put their Calabasas, Calif. mansion on the market for $15 million, but so far there are no takers. Tamar has reportedly moved into an apartment in New York, where she experienced a health scare recently.
The former couple, who share a four-year-old son named Logan, began dating in 2003 after an introduction through Tamar’s eldest sister Toni Braxton, and they wed in 2008.
Interestingly, Tamar confirmed that Toni, 50, is married to music mogul Bryan “Birdman” Williams, 48.
Tamar and Vincent both appear on reality TV shows Braxton Family Values and their own spin-off Tamar & Vince. The next season is due to premiere next month — which leads some fans to speculate that the divorce is just another publicity stunt similar to the one pulled by T.I. and Tameka Harris to promote their reality show, T.I. & Tiny.
