The older sister of CNN anchor Don Lemon drowned after she fell into a pond while fishing on Wednesday afternoon.
L’Tanya ‘Leisa’ Lemon Grimes, 58, drowned in a pond in Denham Springs, just outside of Baton Rouge.
Police were called to the scene in response to a report that a woman fell into a pond. Grimes was apparently fishing alone.
Police do not suspect foul play.
Lemon, 51, who is based in New York City, will not host his show ‘CNN Tonight’ on Thursday after being informed of his sister’s death.
“Thanks everyone for your words of sympathy,” Lemon tweeted on Thursday. “Please keep my family in your prayers. Leisa was my oldest sister & partner in crime growing up. Always had my back. #RIPbigSis.”
