Actor Mario Lopez gave his life to Jesus Christ in the Middle East last week. The handsome Saved by the Bell star uploaded a video of himself getting baptized in the River Jordan, and proclaiming Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
“We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I’m about to get baptized,” Lopez said moments before his baptism. “It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”
Wearing a long white robe, the 44-year-old hunk was lowered into the water while a crowd gathered and sang, “I have decided to follow Jesus.”
After emerging from the water, Lopez said, “Thank you. Beautiful people here. This is awesome. Wow. I just got baptized in the Jordan River. Hallelujah.”
Like most Hispanics, Lopez is a conservative who adheres to the strict morals and values taught in the Holy Bible.
But homosexuals are furious with the actor, whom they believe is a closeted gay man.
Liberals and gays have waged a campaign of hate towards Christian fundamentalists and the Catholic religion which preaches that homosexuality is wrong.
One bitter Twitter user wrote: “too bad jesus wasnt even real”.
While another user tweeted: “Great, another cult member.”.
The response to Lopez’s baptism on Twitter.com was mostly positive.
