Rick Ross was reportedly hospitalized with a “serious” upper respiratory infection, possibly pneumonia. The 42-year-old rap mogul fell ill at his Miami mansion early Thursday, a day after he invited Sesame Street character Elmo to serenade his infant daughter.

According to TMZ, someone at Ross’ home called 911 at 3:30 A.M. The caller said a man in the home was in distress and had a history of seizures. The caller said the stricken man was “slobbing out the mouth.”

We’re told Rick went to a hospital by ambulance and is receiving a respiratory treatment, possibly for pneumonia. One person connected to Rick says the medical issue is heart-related.

One source says Rick was asked to make an appearance Thursday night, but a rep told him the mogul was in the hospital.

A family member strongly denied Rick was hospitalized.
