Last night, the 90th Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. The biggest buzz of the evening came courtesy of ‘Empire’ actress Taraji P. Henson, whose red carpet interview with embattled E! host Ryan Seacrest was widely misinterpreted by just about everyone.
Taraji was one of only 4 stars who stopped to even acknowledge Seacrest’s presence on the red carpet. At one point, she said to him: “The universe has a way of taking care of good people, you know what I mean?”
“I agree,” Seacrest responded.
After moving on to interviewer Wendi McClendon-Covey, who asked her how she was doing, Taraji responded, “I’m great now that I’m in your company.”
That was also misinterpreted by nearly everyone on social media.
The slow folks on social media responded in typical fashion — by adding to the confusion with their misinterpretations that Taraji was “throwing shade” at Seacrest.
Seacrest is currently in time out by Hollywood elites who believe the sexual harassment charges hurled against him by his former hairstylist — a biological female.
Seacrest is the latest victim of a McCarthy-style witch hunt, where baseless sexual harassment allegations are made against people for political reasons, rather than moral or ethical reasons. Typical of McCarthyism, the people doing the mid-slinging are the ones who have the most to hide or the ones who have the most to benefit.
It is no secret that Ryan Seacrest is a closeted homosexual — which is why ABC’s investigation into sexual allegations made by a bio woman were found to be baseless.
The Taraji-Seacrest red carpet exchange is a classic case of people not knowing how to read body language. Taraji is smart enough to know that Seacrest is gay, and she also knows that the windstorm he is in will soon blow over and he will be top dog again.
Taraji confirmed that social media got it all wrong in an interview with PEOPLE.
“I did it to keep his chin up. It’s an awkward position to be in. He’s been cleared but anyone can say anything,” she said.
When asked whether she was in support of Seacrest, Henson replied “absolutely.”
Seacrest was appreciative of Taraji’s kindness, tweeting: “Nothing but love for my friend @TherealTaraji. Thanks for hanging out with us on the #ERedCarpet! #Oscars”.
