No foul play is suspected after a woman was found hanging from a tree near Walmart in College Park, Ga., southwest of Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News is investigating after the woman was found hanging from a tree just before 6 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Old National Highway and Flat Shoals Roads.

WSB-TV reporter Rikki Klaus described the scene as a “person’s body attached to a tree.”

“BREAKING—This is truly disturbing. A Channel 2 photographer first on the scene saw a person’s body attached to a tree at a South Fulton Walmart parking lot. The medical examiner’s office is here.”

The reporter spoke to a police officer who would neither confirmed or deny a suicide.

“We finally got ahold of the police spokeswoman after calling through the early morning hours, emailing,” Rikki Klaus of WSB tweeted. “She said officers came out and found a woman hanging. She wouldn’t confirm whether it was a suicide when we asked but said there is NO foul play.”

A recent double murder of 2 black men by four white people in Oklahoma was incorrectly reported as a “lynching” in a viral post on social media.

The men — Alize Ramon Smith and Jarron Keonte Moreland — were in fact shot and dismembered before their bodies were dumped in a pond in April. Three white men and a woman are in police custody for that crime.
