Kevin Hart is still waiting for Tiffany Haddish to pay back money he gave her during lean times when she was a struggling comedienne. Kevin and Tiffany knew each other long before they were both household names.

Kevin lunched last week with his wife Eniko Parrish and their kids, daughter Heaven and sons Hendrix and Kenzo.

Kevin and Tiffany are promoting their new film Night School, which tells the story of a group of troublemakers who are forced to attend night classes in the hopes they will pass the GED exam to finish high school.

During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night, Kevin shared that he lent Tiffany some money when she was going through a rough patch in life.

“She was living out of her car, nobody knew, she was trying to keep it a secret. And something just wasn’t right, something wasn’t sitting right, and I was like, ‘Yo, you alright? Is everything O.K. with you?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah I’m fine.’ And randomly I’m like, ‘Where do you live at?’ She couldn’t answer the questions and that’s when I found out she was living out of a car,” he recalled.

Hart said his pockets were light, too, but his heart went out to Tiffany.

“of course, I was nowhere near Kevin Hart today but in my pocket, I had $300. And I was like here, I don’t know what your situation is but hopefully this can do something for you in this time because I feel like you’re not telling me something.”

Kevin later found out that Tiffany had used the money to stay in a motel for a week.

Though they fell out of touch for a long time, once Tiffany hit the big time, they reconnected. And the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor teased that he’s still waiting for his pal to repay the $300.

“Until this day, she’s yet to bring up the money to give it back,” the 38-year-old laughed. “I don’t want to make a big deal out of it. It’s one of those things where I’m waiting on her to say it. And when she says it, I’ll be like, ‘Yeah (don’t worry about it).'”

Previously, the Girls Trip star told Vanity Fair that she tried to repay Kevin on two occasions — when he cast her in parody show Real Husbands of Hollywood and again when she got the part in Night School.
