A Maryland man wanted in the love triangle shooting of his ex-girlfriend’s new lover was arrested as he reported to work at the White House Tuesday morning.
Prince George’s County police issued an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Martese Edwards who is suspected in the shooting of the unidentified male victim.
The 26-year-old victim was shot in the chest on May 3 at a Suitland, Maryland apartment complex, according to the NY Daily News.
The man survived the shooting.
Federal agents were alerted to the arrest warrant when Edwards’ name and date of birth were entered into the Criminal Justice Information System database, the Secret Service confirmed to the Daily News.
The suited and booted contractor was taken into custody and handcuffed after he entered a White House checkpoint. He was photographed being placed into the back of a police vehicle.
Edwards was charged with second-degree assault charge in May 2015, according to court records obtained by the Daily News.
It isn’t clear where Edwards worked inside the White House or the type of work he was contracted for.
