As she nears 40, pop singer Beyonce paused to reflect on her surreal life in a heartfelt message to her loyal fanbase (known colloquially as the “BeyHive”).
After celebrating her birthday on Sept. 4 with her husband, 48-year-old rap mogul JAY-Z and family on a yacht in Sardinia, Italy, the pop superstar opened up to her fans in a post titled “Your B**ch at 36” on her website, Beyonce.com.
The “Crazy in Love” singer, who is usually so desperate for affirmation and approval, wrote: “At 36, I became a mother of three. I breastfed twins. I renewed vows with my husband of ten years.”
She added:
“I came back home to the stage to do Coachella, after pregnancy. Then my husband and I released our album together, Everything is Love. And we’ve been touring with our whole family around the world, and loving it.”
Beyonce and husband welcomed twins Rumi Carter and Sir Carter in June 2017. They joined the couple’s six-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
“This year has been monumental for me,” she continued.
“I thank God for everyone in my life. Thank you all for the positivity and for the beautiful birthday wishes. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from my past, living in the present, and surrendering to the future. I love you, Hive.”
She also added a throwback photo of herself as a baby, the same image her mother, Tina Lawson shared with her nearly two million Instagram followers earlier this week.
