Sephora is answering a need in the transgender community by teaching them step-by-step methods for proper skincare and makeup application.
Sephora noticed that many transgender people walked into their shops over the years to ask how to apply makeup in the correct way to achieve a flawless look.
The makeup giant launched The Bold Beauty class during Pride Month this year to teach transgenders makeup products that’s best for their skin and which products to avoid (such as false eyelashes). The results have been nothing short of spectacular.
“Our class was a huge success!” Tweeted @baela.
“I taught classes at Sephora, and I passed this class onto my coworker who is part of the community, and wanted to be involved. Our clients cried after it ended, telling us we’ve had an amazing impact on their self confidence. This is so important!”
The Bold Beauty class was taught in 180 locations all over the United States. The class was offered free to the LGBT community. Sephora created safe spaces where transgenders could learn proper skincare and makeup techniques in an environment of tolerance and inclusivity.
“Having these classes and having us come in, I feel like the beauty industry is becoming more aware that we do have a voice and we are interested in knowing what the current looks are and just overall expressing ourselves,” said Dominique (pictured below), who participated in one of the classes.
Did you know proper skincare and applying makeup in the correct order is important to help your makeup last longer and prevent unsightly cracks and creases in makeup?
