Megyn Kelly was noticeably missing from her NBC morning talk show on Thursday — just days after the public uproar over her question about wearing blackface for Halloween.
The controversy ensued during a segment on Halloween costumes on “Megyn Kelly Today” on Tuesday. Kelly asked if blackface was acceptable if a child wore a costume portraying a Black character.
Kelly expressed sympathy for a character in “Real Housewives of New York” who wore blackface makeup as part of a Diana Ross costume.
The former Fox News anchor was red-faced after her seemingly innocent question became fodder for other talk shows on Tuesday.
Public outrage boiled over despite the talk show host offering a sincere apology on Tuesday and again during her show on Wednesday morning.
When NBC aired a repeat of her show on Thursday the rumors swirled that Kelly’s poorly-rated show was canceled or she was suspended.
An NBC spokeswoman confirmed Thursday that the network planned to air repeats of Kelly’s show on Thursday and Friday. The spokeswoman did not say whether Kelly or her show would return on Monday.
