Cardi B has washed her hands of her no-good cheating husband for good. She wants you to know that her marriage to rapper Kiari Cephus, aka Offset, is over and the split is not merely a stunt to promote his upcoming album.
The Bronx rapper announced her split from the rapper in a since-deleted video last week. Almost immediately her followers insisted the split was a publicity stunt.
The 26-year-old who has a 5-month-old baby with Offset took to social media over the weekend to shut down the rampant speculation.
“I just really hate how people say we trying to do this for publicity. Think we want to put our life out there for what — what we gain from publicity? Nothing. Why would you f–king think that I would put my f–king family in some bulls–t. I have my heart on my sleeve right now, you know what I’m saying?”
Cardi also addressed the rumors that her entire marriage was a sham.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of people say that my relationship was fake. B–ch, there’s certain things called love,” she insisted. “People do fall in love. Like my relationship was never fake… I gave him a chance and we fell in love with each other. But we never did anything for publicity, b–ch.”
Cardi, who was born Belcalis Almanzar, says she “learned a lot” from the Migos rapper, and she credited the promiscuous father-of-4 with showing her the ropes in the music industry.
She told her followers she doesn’t intend to let Offset derail her music career.
“I just put my work before everything and everybody and it’s always gonna be like that. Now that I have s–t, I ain’t never gonna let it go.”
But Offset is not ready to let his meal ticket go so easily. Out of all his baby mamas, Cardi is the only one with money and influence.
After Twitter users alerted him that Cardi changed the lyrics in her track “Motorsport” to reference their upcoming divorce during the Jingle Ball concert on Friday, Offset tweeted: “F-ck y’all I miss Cardi.”
