Cardi B says Jussie Smollett “f-cked up” Black History Month for her and many Black Americans. The disappointed rapper reacted to reports that the Empire actor faked his own homophobic attack in Chicago late last month.
“I’m really disappointed in Jussie Smollett, whatever the f–k his name is,” Cardi said in an Instagram Live video on Tuesday. “I’m really disappointed in him. I feel like he f–ked up Black History Month, bro. Like, damn. I’m not gonna say, yet. Until he say it out his mouth that it was fake and the shit was staged.”
She continued: “I don’t wanna completely blame him because somebody I was saying police in Chicago are racist, and they may try to frame him and make him look like a liar. But if he’s not [telling the truth], then you f–ked up for real. Like, why would you do that?”
Cardi shares the sentiments of rapper Lil Boosie and stunned fans who are having difficulty understanding why Smollett fabricated lies to blame Trump supporters.
Two brothers told investigators the 36-year-old actor paid them $8,000 to stage a homophobic attack on him in Chicago on Jan. 29. The brothers, Abel and Ola Osundairo, were taken into custody at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport on Feb. 13 and released on Feb. 15 without charges. The men are cooperating fully in the investigation.
Police are eager to re-interview Smollett to get his side of the story. The Cook County District Attorney’s Office may charge Smollett with multiple class 4 felonies.
