50 Cent responded to champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr saying he would continue to shop at Gucci despite the uproar in the Black community over blackface allegations.
Outraged Twitter users retweeted images of the $900 black balaclava sweater from Gucci’s 2018 Fall/Winter collection.
Gucci apologized and removed the sweater from its retail and online stores.

In an interview with TMZ this week, Floyd said he is not a follower and he refuses to be told what to do by social media users who constantly call for boycotts over every perceived racial slight.
“See, the thing is this, I live for myself. I do what I want to do,” said Floyd. “I’m not a follower. You know when everybody else they say, ‘Everybody gonna boycott?’ I say guess what, this boy gonna get on a yacht and live life.”
50 Cent responded on Wednesday by posting a meme that shows the boxer wearing a mockup of the infamous Gucci sweater.
Fiddy captioned the image: “get the f*ck outta here Champ! LOL #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #bellator”.
