A North Carolina woman was arrested for posing as her daughter in court, police say. Uganda Spencer, 44, of Sanford, went before a judge at the Chatham County Justice Center on Feb. 22 posing as her daughter Gabrielle Spencer who has an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
Uganda Spencer impersonated her daughter knowing she might be arrested under the outstanding warrant for Gabrielle Spencer.
Uganda Spencer has a criminal record and has multiple aliases.
According to the News Observer, deputies discovered Uganda Spencer’s true identity during the booking process. A search of court records turned up three outstanding warrants and a criminal summons under her own name.
Uganda Spencer was charged with three counts of felony identity theft, common law forgery, resisting a public officer and felony credit card theft. She is being held on $10,000 secured bail.
Spencer’s daughter Gabrielle is still on the loose.
