R. Kelly’s ex-wife will soon make her debut on the reality TV show Growing Up Hip-Hop: Atlanta. Andrea “Drea” Kelly is flush with cash after R. Kelly paid her $161,000 in back child support to get out of jail in Chicago earlier this month.
Drea will debut on the reality TV show later this year. According to WENN.com, Drea does not plan to go easy on her ex, who faces life in prison if he’s convicted on a slew of child sex abuse charges.
Kelly was indicted last month on the charges involving four victims, three of whom were underage, in incidents spanning more than a decade. He vigorously denied the accusations during an explosive interview with Gayle King.
Kelly and Drea’s three children, Robert, far left, Buku Abi, 2nd from right, and Jay Kelly, right, will also make appearances on the series.
In a Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta teaser, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Drea says, “I don’t know what it’s like to be R. Kelly’s child. I only know what it’s like to be his ex-wife.”
She opened up about finding the strength to come forward in an emotional Instagram post in January.
“Thank God for his grace, guidance, love AND deliverance. I celebrate the woman I am TODAY! Though some want ‘expose’ the pain filled, scared, abused women I was…..STOP! I AM No longer afraid. No longer willing to silence my PAIN AND SUGARCOAT THE ABUSE I ENDURED because of how my abuser and his LEGAL TEAM were THREATENING to come against me if I ‘didn’t choose wisely’.”
Drea will join TLC star T-Boz, Waka Flocka Flame, and Tammy Rivera on the new season of the reality show.
