Nicki Minaj’s fiancé had to be persuaded to be part of her music video for her new single “Megatron”, which dropped last week.
In a Twitter chat with fans over the weekend, the rapper revealed her man, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty was grumpy after she woke him up from a nap. She said Petty grumbled all the way to the set and he complained of being cold.
“I woke dat a** up & said take off ya shirt, I need u 2shoot this scene,” Nicki wrote in reply to a fan who asked if her man had to be forced to be in her new video. “He had fallen asleep in my dressing room. He was mad aggy. He was grumbling all the way to the set talking bout he cold.”
She continued: “I said boy go over there & b quiet. Once he saw the video he was cheesing nonstop.”
Nicki, 36, gushed about Petty, 41, revealing he calls her by her government name, Onika, and couldn’t care less about her superstar status.
“others r infatuated w/Nicki Minaj he DGAF [doesn’t five a f–k] about this industry & is very protective,” the “Anaconda” star wrote.
Nicki said her man – a convicted murderer and registered sex offender who served his time in prison – is very protective of her and he keeps a sharp eye out for her lunatic fans.
“His guard goes up when y’all r around me acting excited cuz he thinks y’all can hurt me,” she wrote. “but when he hears the stories from some of my fans about how they think I’ve helped them to stay in school & deal w/their identities, etc., he seems rlly [really] moved by it.”
Nicki recently confirmed she and Petty got a marriage license, but no wedding date has been set.
