Cory Booker defended California Senator Kamala Harris after President Trump’s son, Don Jr., said she wasn’t Black enough to discuss the plight of Black Americans.
Booker rushed to Harris’ defense on Twitter.com after Don Jr. questioned Harris’s Blackness in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Harris is mixed race but she sometimes identifies as Black.
In response to a NY Times tweet describing Don Jr’s tweet, Booker wrote, “@KamalaHarris doesn’t have shit to prove.”

Booker and Harris are among the crowded field of Democrats who hope to win the Democratic nomination and face off with Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
Harris is currently ranked 3rd in the polls behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
