Beyonce Knowles-Carter, 38, was among the well-heeled stars attending the Hollywood Premiere of Disney’s Lion King last night. After the star-studded Hollywood premiere, Disney dropped Beyonce’s new single at midnight.
The new single, titled “Spirit”, is off the Lion King soundtrack. The underwhelming track garnered less than 100,000 views by 7 a.m. – an unusually low number for a star of Beyonce’s caliber.
The lyrics are in keeping with Hollywood’s current empowerment theme:
“Rise up to the light in the sky / Watch the light lift you harder / Burn your flame through the night / Spirit, let your heavens open,” Beyonce sings in a low guttural growl.
