Shannon Sharpe and character actress Loretta Divine came out in support of West Coast socialite Nicole Murphy who was criticized for allegedly kissing her bestie's husband.
Shannon, 51, who has known Murphy since she was married to comedian Eddie Murphy, defended her on Twitter.com.
"They're just friends," the retired NFL star said, echoing a statement Murphy gave to blogger B. Scott on Monday.
"That's still my girl and I love her," he added.
Miss Divine, left, was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday where she was asked to comment on the growing scandal.
Divine, 69, is longtime friends with Antoine Fuqua and his wife, Waiting To Exhale co-star Lela Rochon, who deleted her social media accounts when her followers harassed her to comment on the photos.
"Listen, Lela is one of my closest friends. I love her. I want to know who took the picture!" Divine said, implying that the photographer was in on the set up with Murphy and Fuqua in Italy.
Murphy, 51, was criticized for appearing to enjoy a romantic holiday with Fuqua in Italy. But insiders say Fuqua and Rochon have an open marriage - which only makes their marriage stronger.
Fuqua, 53, and Rochon, 55, share two children together - daughter Asia, 16, and son Brando, 15.
