The warden of a prison in Stockholm, Sweden is disputing reports of inhumane prison conditions where detainees such as rapper A$AP Rocky are held until their court appearances.

Fredrik Wallin took offense to reports on American gossip blog TMZ that quoted a U.S. Embassy official who said walking into the Kronoberg prison is like “walking into a toilet.”

A U.S. consulate official was granted access to the rapper following his June 30 arrest for allegedly assaulting 2 Afghan migrants who harassed his entourage and hit his bodyguard in the head with a pair of headphones.

Rocky’s attorney told TMZ the prison conditions were “inhumane,” the food was inedible and the water was not fit to drink. He also said Rocky subsisted on a meager diet of one apple a day for the first 5 days of his confinement.

Rocky was transferred to solitary confinement after he became despondent when a Supreme Court rejected his request for bail on Monday.

TMZ reported a prisoner in the cell next to Rocky’s hurls feces against the walls and the mess is not cleaned up. But Wallin denied the reports.

Wallin released a statement to NewsBeat addressing the conditions inside the prison. While he could not comment on individual prisoners, he stated the prison was not “disease ridden.”

“…I am able to talk about the general conditions in the remand prison which apply to all prisoners,” he said in a statement. “I have no knowledge on any current diseases in the remand prison.”

He said the prisoners receive three square meals a day, and a professional cleaning company “immediately sanitizes” and cleans up food spillage, blood and body waste.

“This is done for the sake of the prisoners as well as for our staff, for them to have decent working conditions.”

Wallin said remand prisons do contain solitary confinement cells but those cells are reserved for violent prisoners or prisoners that require special care and monitoring. He said a formal written decision is made for solitary confinement.

Over 370,000 signatures were collected on a petition asking Swedish officials to release Rocky from prison. The petition was created by Rocky’s rep on Tuesday on Change.org.

But not everyone cares about Rocky’s dire circumstances. Some fans remember his dismissive response when a journalist asked him to comment on the police shooting death of Michael Brown who was killed in 2014 in Ferguson, Missouri.

“Why, because I’m Black? So every time something happens because I’m Black I gotta stand up? What the fuck am I, Al Sharpton now? I’m A$AP Rocky,” he said in the July 2016 issue of Time Out magazine. “I did not sign up to be no political activist. I don’t wanna talk about no fucking Ferguson and shit because I don’t live over there! I live in fucking Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate I’m in the studio; I’m in these fashion studios; I’m in these bitches’ drawers. I’m not doing anything outside of that. That’s my life.”
