Actress Zoe Kravitz cautioned her fans not to follow the example set by former model Chrissy Teigen who injected Botox into her armpits to prevent excessive sweating. "The Big Little Lies" star says she is "terrified" by the beauty trend which is sweeping social media.

Chrissy Teigen shocked fans by injecting Botox into her armpits to stop excessive sweating. But Kravitz says sweating is too natural and a necessary bodily function.

"That is the dumbest, scariest thing I've ever heard," Kravitz told Vogue. "Don't do that. Sweating is key."

Her comments come just days after Teigen shared video footage on Instagram of herself undergoing the procedure at Dr. Jason B. Diamond's plastic surgery office in Beverly Hills last Tuesday, Aug. 13. She never explained why she underwent the procedure, saying only that she sweats a lot.

"BOTOXED MY ARMPITS," Chrissy captioned the video footage. "TRULY BEST MOVE I HAVE EVER MADE I can wear silk again without soaking woohoo!"

Sweating is necessary to detoxify the body, improve skin tone and improve circulation. It is also crucial to keep dangerous bacteria and viruses in check. Without sweating, bacteria will have a field day in your sweat ducts and on your skin.

Sweating profusely is annoying. It can occur for a variety of medical reasons. It is usually not normal to sweat excessively unless you are obese, very active or constantly in a hot environment.

Excessive sweating can be caused by thyroid problems, hormonal imbalance, diabetes, infection, obesity, and more.

If you sweat excessively for no apparent reason, you should consult your doctor to determine the medical reason.

I never use to sweat and now that I'm close to 50 I do now for some odd reason. It makes me feel REALLY dirty. Not sure why but I guess because I never had that problem before it's a little unusual to me and feels weird.

  • Kim’s Original Face

    Chrissy has a long back!

  • Itzgoingdown2

    Right message, wrong messenger. lol

  • Guest

I agree with Zoe. Also, Mitchum is can be used for people who sweat a lot. It is very strong.

O.T- Congrats Chanel Iman Shepard and Sterling Shepard on their second upcoming bundle of joy! They are such a cute family.

  • Carrington

Well, here in Houston, where it's still 87 degrees at 1130 at night, your ass is drying off after a shower... and sweating as you dry off. HORRIBLE. I can't WAIT to move out of this heat.

  • TriniHarlem

You must sweat. It is imperative. This is coming from someone who hates sweat and will get low key nauseous if I see someone sweating profusely. Those of you who are still using deodorant with aluminum etc please understand that is dangerous and can lead to more serious health conditions later on.

  • Starburst

Botox is used for everything sweaty armpits, wrinkles and now you can get Botox injections for migraines.

  • Carrington

I didn't either until I turned 40. I was in the army and we'd run like 5 miles and I'd barely have a drop of sweat on me. Everyone used to say that I was lying and didn't run - that I stopped and took the bus and met them at formation at the end because I'd be completely dry. I just walked to another building to get some snacks and I'm soaked.

  • Starburst

Zoe is an earth child. She wants everything natural.

  • JALC

Teigen is so unattractive, annoying, and oddly built. She just need to fade to back...go away. She is on par with that Curry b*tch!

Also, Zoe need to enroll in drug rehabilitation and an eating disorder clinic before she gives out any advice (allegedly ???).

Don't know why this entire post irked me to high heaven?????????

  • Kay Gee

I had a co-worker that HAD to do that. His shirts would be soaked so bad under his arms it was imperative that he received the shots. Some people sweat too much, so I can see seeking help, but I wouldn't suggest doing this purely for vanity reasons.

  • 100milesperhour

Cutting off perspiration is like a woman stopping her body from menstruating. What do you think the body does w/waste it can’t get rid of?

  • Soon2BWife

And musty... I kid. She has great point.

  • KLove

Only place i sweat profusely are my toes and nether regions....i was considering botox at one point as well

I've heard of this but not through Chrissy, people are using botox for everything. You now can have botox for migraines

  • iWasteTime

right. I feel her, I do but I know she has a forest under her arms ... lol

  • ClaireHuxtable

Too bad Chrissy hasn't botoxed her mouth to keep her lips from flapping.

Little Missy, please tend to your new husband and stay outta folks armpits.

  • JALC

So did I. The coworker was a sweaty, stinky mess. I felt so bad for her due to her medical condition. She was so sweet and hardworking. However, because I have a weak stomach, I was unable to be around her without gagging. I would find myself apologizing to her in between the intense urgency to hurl.????

Lmaoooo damn I ain wanna go in on the woman but I’m glad somebody else tapped into my thoughts ??

  • TriniHarlem

Brew some tea and soak your feet in it. Tea has tannins which aids in sweat. Depending on your sweat situation you will have to adjust the brew.

  • Yardgirl

Do some good digging before scheduling the procedure. You have to go to someone who is familiar with our kind of skin because the treated areas can leave dark spots. So says my fam who is a nurse and had it done.

  • oshh16

I am thinking about having that done as well my derm who is black, said it doesn't work on fine or gray hair. May do it next year.

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

That may be why she always looks swollen ...... smh

  • ClaireHuxtable
  • Coy little wink

    Thanks...i'll check with mine ?

  • Bonita

I heard of this procedure yeeaars ago. This isn't new. All that will happen is you'll start sweating profusely in a different area of your body since the sweat glands under the arms have been blocked. People that get real musty tend to have this done. If my memory serves me right, Charmaine from Black Ink Chicago had it done too. From what I hear, Serena Williams may want to undergo the procedure.

  • oshh16

I sweat when working out lots, but it is good.
Sometimes I wake up at night a lil damp = perimenopause.

  • Yardgirl

All my life I have sweat a lot, so embarassing. I danced and ran long distance in HS so it was expected, however I could be standing still, get embarrassed or scared and the sweat started pouring down my face, uuugh. As I have gotten older, hallelooyer, it has gone away!! Not sure why but I am glad because even though it did not smell, it was awful to deal with. https://media1.giphy.com/media/ikaQUAq1J5efu/giphy.gif

Chrissy sweats excessively because she is an alcoholic... point, blank, period!

  • Yardgirl

I heard about it years ago too. I am always skeptical of these types of treatment because "where then will you start sweating?' was my question!

  • Ni Ni

I bet you have pretty skin; people who sweat normally do. I dont sweat, my skin is so dry and i still have acne at my age. When my coworker and i go walking, sweat be just running down her face and body and i barely have a little water along the edge of my hair. She has the smoothest skin and even toned.

  • Ceecee Adams

Im not a fan of either of these chicks...however Zoe need to talk to her daddy about bathing and using deodorant. Chrissy had so much surg on her face that she looks like an angry bird.

  • 100milesperhour

Never thought of that. She has an odd, bloated face. Maybe her body doesn’t respond well to fillers/Botox.

  • Li-Wright

Try charcoal deodorant for excessive sweating.

  • Yardgirl

Well not to sound immodest but I do have good skin and never really connected it to sweating, but you may have a point there sis. I only use Oil of Olay after giving up on the over priced Clinique that my sister uses (she uses the entire line from cleanser to moisturizer to makeup!!). It works and it is cheap and always on sale at CVS and 'em!!

  • SingleGalCrazyWorld

I've been doing laser hair removal for the past 5 years...I love it...had some facial hair problems that almost turned into a beard...The great thing about it is that any scars or discolorations you have on your face will disappear because of the high powered laser light...the most painful part I've done is the mustache it always makes me tear up...it was one of the best investments I've ever done...I go to a medical spa type place that treat US...some places will act like they have a high power density laser light and they dont...I pay 1000.00 a year for whole face, neck, arm pits and bottom leg but you can pay in installments...its a once a month appointment ...with OUR skin the hair doesn't stop growing depending on your density level but it will stop the stubble from growing back and creating razor bumps and making the "hair" that returns fine and not noticeable...

  • SingleGalCrazyWorld

Oh grays dont work on laser hair removal light tho...there is no color in the strand for the light to reflect off of and remove..

  • Guest

I have perimenopause also. The night sweats, ughhh!

  • BlockingTrollsAllYearLong

People have been doing this for years.

  • SingleGalCrazyWorld

She drinks too much now thats why her face is bloated looking now...she didn't look that way after Luna...I think Chrissy is hitting the bottle...

  • SingleGalCrazyWorld

Ohh...Does she take PH pills??? There is a flora pill that can help if its just a symptom of birth control pills and she drinks water regularly...My friend had this issue when she started taking Ortho Lo and the doc said to take Renew Life Ultimate flora pills and it stopped her kitty from smelling like Muffler smoke....

  • dru and neil

    Thank you.

  • TiffaniZ

I love to sweat especially when I workout. Sweating allows you to release all those negative toxins. If I'm not sweating..it's not a good time.

  • LoveChild

Chrissy is the typical over sharing wife of a closeted gay male.

Yeah some of us remember what John was doing before he married his beard ??

  • LoveChild

That’s because she’s not getting any. She’s in a lavender marriage. Everything she does is fake

  • Shawty

She has stated before the kids she has issues with alcohol. She CLAIMED it happened during her modeling days because they would give her drinks to calm the nervousness before she had to walk. She said she didn't realize it was a major issue until she got pregnant with Luna and couldn't drink. She make be back sucking it down.

  • ShelbyMoore

Hyperhidrosis....Try MiraDry. People are talking shat about cutting off sweat glands, but they have no idea how hard it is for people who have Hyperhidrosis. It is debilitating. It makes it hard to work cause you're always sweating and people feel that you are dirty cause you're always sweating...doesn't matter if the day is hot or cold, you're sweating.

  • Dontgetdraggedputa??

Im i the only who dgaf what ppl do with their money as long as theyre not harming anyone? She was speaking on and about herself she didnt tell any of you to go get it or provide a discount code like some of em do who cares? That said tho I love CT ill be dammed if I inject botox into my pits

    Sweating is natural exfoliator.
I sweat a lot in my face and it drives me crazy yet folks swear I have a glowing complexion and beautiful skin tone. This perimenapuase ain’t no joke. I carry a portable fan that connect to my phone.

I used to not sweat in acne treated spots as well. I think something in them stops sweat production. I used to sit in an infared sauna daily and eventually I started sweating again in the face. Took about a month.

  • Lady_Elle

It is very dangerous... you lose fluids fairly quick.

  • 1KimJones

She probably has hyperhidrosis. It's a medical condition that I have as well. More people have it than you might think, however, people are embarrassed to talk about it or seek medical treatment. People don't realize that it's more than just a little extra sweating. You literally drench your shirts, blouses and dresses (not just large pit stains). It doesn't matter if you shower and put fresh extra strength deodorant on every 2 hours, you will sweat through in no time. My doctor prescribed a topical treatment that limits sweating to a normal range. It's amazing, and I only use it once a week for maintenance. Hope this helps somebody seek treatment for the condition.

  • Harley

Watch those brands they have lots of chemicals that aren’t good for long term. Organic, paraben free with no sulfates is the way to go

  • Harley

Yes those things are so unhealthy I know so many women with issues because of them. Unnatural!

  • 1KimJones

Years ago I almost did it as well, but my doctor suggested I try Drysol to see if it worked for me first. It did :)

  • Music

The people who are getting botox in their armpits aren't doing it to be vain. They actually have a medical condition. Plus, your body has millions of sweat glands. If the armpits dont release the sweat, then it'll just come out from another part of your body. Zoe...hush!

  • Yardgirl

Good point. I don’t have problem skin so that is why I go with the basics but will def do some more checking on the chemical content!

  • Nunya Business

Agreed. It's called hyerhidrosis and it can be devastating for a woman especially. I have two friends who have been diagnosed with it. One is a woman, the other a man. My female friend with the condition had lowered self esteem because of it until she started getting botox treatments and she feels like a new woman. I have always cautioned her about it because botox hasn't been out long enough to me to be comfortable to know what it'll do to you 30 years down the line but she is very happy and satisfied with her decision and I have seem a positive change in her overall well being and mental state because of it. My Male friend has decided it's a condition he was born with and has to live with and he just applies a very strong deodorant and is done with it. I suppose it's because men are less likely to undergo cosmetic procedures for the sake of vanity than women are because he's good and his self esteem is actually too damn high.. lol.

I'm thinking it depends on the person. You may start sweating in places you typically don't like your nether region, your head, your forehead . . . and if you already sweat in one or multiple areas, you may start sweating even worse.

  • Kimisan Waya

I have it and it's so embarrassing. I sweat heavily on my face, so I can't hide it with dark clothing. I haven't found anything that helps.

  • ShelbyMoore

MiraDry works....usually one session will do, but some people who have it very bad have to get a second round. Look it up and find a place. You have to wear black polyester closing to try and hide the sweating that leaves you drenched and unable to function. Don't listen to these people cause they don't know the struggle. While Botox only lasts 3-6 months, MiraDry is permanent. Good luck.

  • ShelbyMoore

    MiraDry...thank me later.

  • ShelbyMoore

    Try MiraDry it's permanent.

  • ZRoJoTheLezBeyond

I've only considered Botox injections to the back of my head to help ease the migraines. Other than that, I wouldn't want to inject Botox in me for any other reason.
